We saw To Kill A Mockingbird at the Park Square Theater yesterday. To put it simply, the cast was brilliant. Outside of the play we saw at the Guthrie earlier in the semester, I haven't been to many plays. I think the last one I attended was almost 20 years ago, when I was in middle school.
The stage was simple, but the way the scenes changed and everything was on wheels, was amazing. The coordination it took to do all of that must me perfect, because there are set pieces flying around on wheels being pushed by the actors.
The way they had the main character "Scout" narrating the play was an interesting choice, but in reality how else could they have done it. The choice to have a girl play the older brother was interesting too, but overall everything was done extremely well. I'll probably see another play at some point in time, but even though I liked it, I'm not in any rush.
