Minnesota History Museum

I never knew this place existed before this class. There are some interesting things there, the vast majority relating to Minnesota and some of the historical events or things that people from our state have done. We sat through a simulated tornado in a mock basement. It reminded me of sitting in my own basement when I was a kid. There was a simulated cellar window that you could "look out" and the sky changed colors from gray to dark, to that greenish color that always precedes a tornado before finally turning to the light pink of a post storm sky.

There was a large part of the museum dedicated to George Washington, who had nothing at all to do with Minnesota. But it was interesting nonetheless to see some of the artifacts from him and the little dioramas of Martha's Vineyard and the battles of the time. I like history and related things, which is why I liked this place and I've always loved the science museum.
