Parks and Lakes
There are parks all over the cities. The ones we went to were Mears park, right downtown St.Paul, Lake Phalen park, and Powderhorn Park.
Mears park isn't so much a park as it is a square in the middle of a bunch of buildings. It seems like a nice place to relax on some grass amid a sea of concrete. Lake Phalen on the other hand was a lakeside playground and a huge park. There are bike trails everywhere, a golf course, bridges, piers and beaches. It's almost like Central Park in New York, except it's not right downtown.
Lake Calhoun has always been one of my favorites. There's always little boats, sailboats, and people there. The scenery is nice, there's plenty of cut grass to lay a blanket on, and they spray pretty well for mosquitoes. There is at least one playground and bike and running paths around the entire lake. It would be nice to live down here I think.
